Recently during Mathematics sessions we've been working individually, in pairs and small groups to create patterns with shapes, sort, classify and graph them.  After drawing maps of their bedrooms, Grade 1s then used linking cubes to make 3D models of their contents and then arrange them to plan.

Garden visit..
This week in Science we had a think about how as living things we have five major senses to help us find out about the world around us.  Our senses of sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell help us to observe, interpret and understand our environment.  They can alert us to dangers too.

Where better to start our investigations other than in the school garden which is full of interesting sights and scents!
Rosemary, oregano, spring onion, Vietnamese mint, bay leaves, thyme ...plenty to sniff at and rub between our fingers!  Thank you Mrs Hicks for showing us around.

Welcome to our page!
What a great start to our year together, with a room full of happy faces ready to begin a new school adventure! How lovely to have 'experienced' Grade 1 students sit with and guide our 2016 Preps. Here's looking forward to a super year!
